What Australians Spend at Christmas Time
As Australians get ready to celebrate Christmas and the holiday season with family & friends, we also commence a serious shopping frenzy. Australians this year are expected to spend around $43 billion during this holiday period. According to a report issued by the Australian National Retail Assocation, Australians are expected to spend an average of $1,820 each. This is only up to Christmas Eve! If we took into account any shopping done during the post-Christmas sales this figure would be much higher. Residents of New South Wales are expected to be the biggest spends this Christmas, followed by Tasmania and Victoria.
