MyGov is going to make your life dealing with government easier. MyGov is the Australian Federal government’s new portal site. What is a portal site? A portal site is a central online area where all your details and important information are located. With MyGov the Australian Government is bringing together the services of many departments into a central location.

1) Saving more money on post and phone bills. By using MyGov you can access online information and make updates. Instead of paying to send mail or make phone calls you can save money now using MyGov. You will also save a lot of valuable time not waiting on hold to speak with someone. All you need to access MyGov is an internet connection. You can do this from a public library where internet access is free.
2) Use you car or public transport less. Instead of travelling to individual Government departments you can use MyGov instead for many tasks. Doing this you will save money on public transport and car costs. By using the site instead of making a trip to see someone in person will also save you a lot of money over the long term.
3)More departments on MyGov, more money saved. With more and more departments joining MyGov shortly you will be save even more money. Dealing with MyGov instead of individual departments will give you more free time. You will have more hours to go work to save more money. 3 Time Saving Tips Using MyGov
1) Write down all the federal government departments you now deal with. Then check the above list to see if they are connected to MyGov. If they are then you should go link all individual department to this new site. You are going to save a lot of time dealing with one site instead of all sites separately.
2) Using the MyGov inbox. The My.Gov.Au inbox is a central and secure place where you can receive messages. Currently mail is being sent by Centrelink, Child Support and Medicare. Messages you can receive include online letters and payment statements. You can save serious time here by accessing all email in one location. You also do not need to look for misplaced physical letters. They can all be found in your new inbox.
3) Update your details only once on My Gov. This will notify all connected government departments. MyGov allows you to update your home and postal address with Medicare, Centrelink and the Australian Taxation Office. You no longer need to contact all these departments individually with personal detail changes.
