Home cleaners are perhaps an unnecessary luxury. Clean up after yourself right? However when you think of all other productive activities that you could be doing when not cleaning, it starts to make a lot more sense. You could be at work, reviewing your finances or joining the Daily Savers Club! This has the potential to either make you or save you a lot more money than the cost of a few cleaning hours. Since at Daily Savers Club we want to save people both money & time we are reviewing here a new online site called Helpling.
The other day while in the city we noticed a young man do a quick sprint through a busy cafe and dump a series of voucher cards on the tables. The business flyer being promoted was called “Helpling” which included a brief introduction and a $30 Helpling Cleaning Voucher. The Helpling voucher code cards were very professional looking. It came as no surprise as we investigated the company behind Helpling further. It is the same company who assisted in founding other online Australian businesses such as The Iconic and Hello Fresh. Seeing they are now trying to freshen up the cleaning industry we thought to give them a go and redeem our Helpling voucher code.
How Helpling Could Help Clean Up the Cleaning Industry
Here’s how a company like Helpling could really clean up the current Australian cleaning trade.
1) The cleaning industry is seriously fragmented. Most cleaners operate on their own or as part of a small agency team and charge varying amounts. They are difficult to find, approach and secure at time and frequency that suits your needs. Helpling brings together cleaners who are happy to be listed on the site to be booked. You will be matched according to all your specific cleaning needs. There is also a flat rate hourly charge of $29 per hour for all cleaners booked through Helpling.
2) Household cleaning services are usually cash in hand. The Australian Tax Office would certainly be interested in many a cleaner’s “real” income. However without any invoicing as there does comes potential issues when a dispute may arise with you and your cleaner. Helpling provides invoices clearly showing how much you have paid. If the cleaner you book through Helpling is GST registered this will also show on the invoice.
3) Cleaner reputation. This is a big step forward. Cleaners until now have only had word of mouth feedback to be assessed by. However nothing is stopping one cleaner fired from one house to go and start working at another the next day. The new house would have no idea of their cleaner’s most recent work history. Helpling offers a review service of all cleaners who are listed on their site. Like Uber and taxi drivers who can now thankfully be reviewed, Helpling is doing the same with cleaners.
Helpling Booking Process & Voucher Code Use
Upon reading the fine print of the Helpling voucher we needed to book a minimum 2 hours of cleaning to be able to use the voucher. Clever marketing. Either way regardless of if the trial is not successful the business will still be able to offset the free one hour with a paid hour of cleaning. The Helpling site is easy to use and in minutes a cleaner was booked for an Inner Sydney house visit next week. Step 1 you customize your cleaning to meet your household needs. Step 2 you enter your location. Step 3 you securely pay online (and enter in your Helpling voucher code if you have one). You will receive a confirmation by email once your booking has been made. A second email will also be received once Helpling has matched you with an individual Helpling cleaner.
This article has dealt with reviewing Helpling and the initial booking process. Further entries will be about how we found the Helpling trial and if we will continue to use their service. Finding a good, reliable and cheap cleaner as we all know is a real challenge. Once you find a good one you never want to let them go. We are certainly prepared to give Helping a go to find the perfect cleaner. Stay tuned for our next update on how the Helpling booked cleaner performs vs. the current incumbent.
